Join us for a 5 week series on Jesus and the Promised Holy Spirit in the Gospel. Sr. Sara Butler has been a seminary professor of theology and is a consultant to the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization. During this 5 week Bible study, participants will break open the Sacred scriptures, read and reflect on the Gospel. Sister Sara will share her insight on the promises of Jesus and how we are each called into a relationship with the Holy Spirit as we prepare for Pentecost.
- May 2nd: John 13:31-14:31 The Farewell Discourse ~ the Father will send another Advocate
- May 9th: John 15:1-16:4 Farewell Discourse ~ The Spirit will testify to Jesus
- May 16th: John 16:14-33 ~ Farewell Discourse ~ The Spirit will guide us into all truth
- May 23rd: John 17:1-26 ~ The High Priestly Prayer ~ Jesus prays for his disciples and for us
- May 30th: John 7:27-29, 19:30, 20:22 ~ Pentecost and the Paschal Mystery in St. John’s Gospel
The sessions will be held on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30pm. Please register or call at least on day prior to session so adequate set up and materials can be prepared. Free will offering.
