Do I have a call?
† Have thoughts of religious life have been entering your mind lately?
† Do you find yourself wishing for a deeper relationship with God?
† Is your relationship with God so important to you that you desire that
others also have a friendship with Him?
† Do you feel concerned about the many Catholics who are leaving the Church because there's no one reaching out to them?
†Are you a Catholic woman over 18 years of age?
† Are you flexible? Do you have an adventurous spirit that will allow you to work in new places and among other cultures?
† Do you have a humble and joyful spirit, gifts so
necessary for working as part of a team?
Then, it is possible you do have a call. Remember, For God is the one
who, for his good purpose, works in you both to desire and to work.
Phl 2,13
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I THINK I HAVE A CALL?
Intensify your relationship with God through more prayer and attendance at daily Mass if possible.
Talk with a spiritual director, a person experienced in helping others determine where the Lord is leading them in their lives.
Try to meet others who have walked this path, particularly a Vocation
Director whose specific work is helping others discern if they have a
Religious vocation.
Talk to those who know you. You might be surprised by their take. Often discerners hear,
“I’ve been waiting for you to tell me this for some time”.
The other steps in the Formation Program are:
CANDIDACY
A year in which the young woman grows in self-knowledge, deepens in her Faith and Spiritual Life, and continues her Vocational Discernment.
Candidacy lasts from six to twelve months.
NOVITIATE
The young woman deepens in her vocational call. She studies the charism, history and mission of the Community. She is preparing to make vows of poverty, chastity and obedience as a Missionary Servant of the Most Blessed Trinity. Novitiate is a time dedicated to spiritual growth, reflection and study. Generally, Novitiate lasts eighteen months.
TEMPORARY PROFESSION
When the novice completes her novitiate she professes vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience. She is assigned to a mission and lives and works with other Missionary
Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity. She renews her vows annually and after a year on a second mission may request to make Perpetual Profession of vows as a Missionary Servant of the Most Blessed Trinity.
